Sculpting at the Carlisle Tool Library
March 11 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Learn how to sculpt with Aedan Griffith, the 11th-grade Big Spring High School student who created the 6′ Hotchee Dog for New Year’s Eve in Carlisle! Aedan will talk about his artistic process and will answer any questions. He will also guide attendees through a workshop involving the use of construction spray foam. Using spray foam as an artistic medium is very dynamic. It’s simple to use and easy to shape and can be placed wherever you want it. Plus, it attaches to surfaces very securely so there’s no worry of it falling off or out of place.
The Hotchee dog Chili was created from spray foam, making it very sturdy as well as weather resistant. Aedan will demonstrate spray foam usage and will cover its properties, safe usage, and the way to plan for its expansion.
Each student will get to manipulate spray foam that has been prepared in advance. Let’s see what you can create with it! Also handy for collage and painting techniques.
